What is happening
On 17 October 2026, CGIL held the “La Via maestra” demonstration and march in Rome. The event concluded in Piazza del Popolo with Maurizio Landini. Landini said the government should listen to people and accused it of investing only in weapons. Elly Schlein and Giuseppe Conte also attended; Schlein referred to the spirit of the referendum and Conte said a synthesis would be found on Kyiv.
